NCS BASEBALL FIELD - Week 4 of the 2010 church of Christ co-ed softball league provided more drama --- both on the field and off --- as the Bammel squad out-paced Spring Creek en-route to a 3-1 overall record. The final score (10-2 or 11-2 depending on official scoring) indicated a comfortable margin of victory. Unfortunately, things were not nearly as comfortable for team management as they reviewed the injured list following the game.

Coming into play on Monday evening, October 4, skipper Jason Dyniewski was already down a man due to an ankle injury suffered by Braden Stewart which kept one of Bammel's big bats at bay. The situation escalated when recent rookie phenom, Cassie Miller, suffered a leg injury early in the contest. Cassie continued to play through the pain for a few innings but eventually needed to come out of the game for a substitution. Fortunately, the Bammel well of softball talent no longer runs dry and the team was able to pluck both Chris Russo and Danielle Savaria from the stands for immediate duty. Caleb Davis also made his softball debut and showed no signs of rust while making several key defensive plays at the hot corner.

Bammel will look to continue its winning ways next Monday, October 11 with a 7:00pm game against a strong Champions team. The first 10 fans to the field will receive an autographed photo of Micah Sweats admiring his pop-up fly-ball in the infield. It's a perfectly clear action shot since Micah was standing still instead of running to first base.

See you at the field!
