But We Will
Today is dark.
The brightest light cannot pierce the shadows of loss and despair that hang heavy upon our heart. No words bring comfort, yet the silence is deafening.
And we cry.
A loved one lost leaves an immediate irreparable wound in the fabric of family, friends and faith. Waves of sorrow ripple across the present as we long for the past.
And we grieve.
Circumstances and consequences make no sense. The time and place do not fall within our plans. The story’s end is much too abrupt — missing unwritten chapters too numerous to count.
And we question.
Today is dark and tomorrow seems dim. Swollen eyes and a broken heart make it hard to find hope. To think that we’ll one day gather together without pain and suffering is little consolation today.
But we will.
